MY SERVICES AND APPROACH

I have been trained in an ‘integrative’ way. This means I combine major types of counselling/psychotherapy to find what is best for you. That may mean unpicking your past and exploring what’s happening on a deeper level, or it could be finding coping strategies and challenging negative thought patterns. It could also mean providing a space for you to simply offload. These are just a few ways that counselling can help. I can talk to you about what you feel you need in our initial consultation call and throughout our work together.

I currently offer counselling through Zoom, telephone counselling, or ‘Walk and Talk’ therapy (see below). I am flexible with weekends and evening slots. 

Most clients will start with a minimum of 6-12 sessions, but you do not need to know in advance how many you would like. Your counselling can be flexible and we can work in an open ended way; whether that is long term or short term. Sessions typically last for 50 minutes on a weekly basis, at the same time each week. Having a regular commitment to counselling is important for the work to be effective.

ZOOM COUNSELLING

£50/session

I use Zoom as it is a secure and private online video call software. Simply download the app onto your phone, tablet or laptop and we can speak face to face through the video call. I send you a private meeting room code which only you can access. This assures a confidential space for the session. You will need a private space and a good internet connection.

TELEPHONE COUNSELLING

£50/session

This can be helpful for those of us who prefer to speak without video or being face to face. Telephone counselling has been popular for many years and has been proven just as effective as face to face therapy. I will call you at the allocated time and go from there.

WALK AND TALK THERAPY

£60+/session (dependent on travel)

We can meet at a chosen location such as a local park, to walk together for the duration of our session. It’s a great form of wider self care, getting out into the fresh air as well as having therapy. For some, walking side by side rather than being face to face can feel more comfortable. We can discuss this in our initial consultation to see if there is a suitable location. Cost will be determined depending on the location.
